Energy saving

Energy classes and related consumption

From this 2013, the energy classes, also called classes of energy efficiency, have decreased. The energy classes with greater electrical expenditure because appliances that consume a lot of energy are now considered obsolete. Thus, the energy classes range from A to D (the energy classes E, F and G). Class A expands with categories energetic A +, A ++ and A +++. The consumption bands associated with energy classes vary according to the type of appliance.

As for refrigerators, the energy classes refer to a device always kept behind closed doors under laboratory conditions. The consumption of excellence provided by the best energy classes range from 188 kWh of class A +++ up to 300 kWh of class A.
For class B refrigerators, consumption ranges from 300-400 kWh
For those of class C, consumption ranges from: 400 - 560 kWh
Class D: 563 to 625 kWh

The consumption values indicated for washing machines refer to the use of the appliance twice a week for a total of 104 washes per year. The estimated load is 5 kg and the temperature 60 ° C. Estimated consumption for energy classes washing machines:
Class A: up to 247 kWh
Class B: from 247 up to 299 kWh
Class C: from 299 up to 351 kWh
Class D: from 351 up to 403 kWh

For electric ovens, the energy classes refer to these consumptions:
Class A: up to 60 kWh
Class B: from 60 to 80 kWh
Class C: from 80 to 100 kWh
Class D: from 100 to 120 kWh

The estimates listed above refer to an oven with a capacity of 12-35 liters. For medium-sized ovens, with a capacity of 35-60 liters, the expected consumptions are:
Class A: up to 80 kWh
Class B: from 80 kWh to 100
Class C: from 100 to 120 kWh
Class D: from 120 to 140 kWh

The energy classes A +++ are charged but the savings in the bill are guaranteed, especially when it comes to appliances that must always be in operation (freezers and refrigerators) or highly energy-intensive equipment such as air conditioners. Consumption refers to a cooling capacity of 5.7 kWh, air-cooled:
Class A ++: 321 kWh
Class A +: from 321 up to 734 kWh
Class A: from 734 to 890 kWh
Class B: from 891 to 950 kWh
Class C: from 950 to 1018 kWh
Class D: from 1018 to 1096 kWh

The energy consumption reported with classes according to the measurements made in the laboratory, in daily practice these values could be significantly higher.
