All the details on the Renault Twizy electric motor


We have already told you about the Renault Twizy, today we will see in detail all the features of his electric motor. The electric motor, in fact, dictates the substantial difference between the two models of Renault Twizy, the classic Twizy Urban and the less powerful Twizy 45.

The differences start when it comes to power, torque and top speed and so we have a electric motor 7kW / 9hp with 33 Nm of torque for the Twizy 45 which has a maximum speed limited to 45 km / h while the electric motor of the most performing Twizy version is 13 kW / 17 hp with a torque of 57 Nm and a top speed of 80 km / h.

With its equipment, the Twizy 45 version belongs to the category of light quadricycles (homologation class L6e), so a license is enough for driving. The electric motor of the more powerful Twizy Urban, on the other hand, requires a driving license (A1, A or B compatible license) because it classifies the vehicle in the category of heavy quadricycles (approval class L7e). Being homologated as a quadricycle it requires a driving license: Twizy 45 with a license for 14 years. Twizy 45 and 80 from 16 years with A1 license or directly from 18 years with A or B license Renault Twizy there is no obligation to wear a helmet.
