An aid to quit smoking

The tobacco smoke contains carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nicotine, propane, formaldehyde, acrolein, hydrogen cyanide, methylglyoxal, acetaldehyde, propanaldehyde, acetonitrile, ammonia, aniline, pyridine, nitrosodimethylamine, nitrous-nor-nicotine, nitroanatabine, cadene, toluene, benzopyroline , nickel and zinc, almost all toxic substances. Not enough for you yet stop smoking?

Well then know that the tobacco smoke in confined spaces, the concentration in the air of carbon monoxide, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, respirable suspended particulate and numerous other toxic substances increases significantly; which means that those who smoke not only inhale the aforementioned list of crap, but make those around them breathe almost as many.

Stop smoking it's not easy, but continuing to do so is detrimental. The purpose of this article is not to propose one of the many remedies to addiction to smoking (there are many and recently the electronic cigarette) but rather explain to smokers (of cigarettes, cigars and pipes) what they 'shoot' in their lungs every time they light a cigarette, and what they force others to breathe.

What we generally call smoke can be divided into two components: the part inhaled and filtered by the smoker's lungs and the part directly linked to the combustion of tobacco and paper (in the case of cigarettes). The first is the mainstream part, the second the sidestream part and in the latter there are mainly NO₂, CO, nicotine, benzopyrene, methylglyoxal, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acroleitin and a high dose of particulate matter. The mixture is very complex, made up of gases, organic compounds and particles among which hundreds of irritating, toxic, carcinogenic and mutagenic elementary compounds have been identified. You still haven't convinced yourself a stop smoking?

It is difficult to add something new about the role of active and passive smoking in respiratory and cardiovascular diseases and its carcinogenic effects. The smoker tends not to take his health into great consideration (which can have resolvable psychological causes) and therefore to stop smoking we talk about the health of others, especially children. Passive smoking (consisting of 85% sidestream) certainly plays a major role in the respiratory diseases of children and in the reduction of lung development in pediatric age. Anyone who smokes next to children hurts them. Stop smoking!
