At the same time as the pig arrives at the house, you must register with the local ASL but, even before the pig arrives, it will be necessary to set up an enclosure with a sheltered shelter. The pig needs a shelter covered and closed on all sides, with a comfortable opening and easy access. Given that the pig arrives in your yard weighing 30 - 35 kg, keep in mind that until it reaches the weight of about 50 kg you will have to feed it with mixtures consisting of 27% of proteins combined with the same amount of cereal mixtures. The pig is in full growth so the mixes must be administered at will at this stage.

When the pig has reached 50 kg and until it reaches the quintal, you can make its feeding more complex. In this phase, the pig develops the skeletal and digestive systems: feed the pig a food mixture consisting of a commercial protein core (always 27% protein), bran and cereals.

For the percentages, combine 65% of farm cereals, 27% of commercial protein core and 8% of bran. Keep in mind that the recommended dose is 1.5 - 2 kg of this mixture per day for each pig raised. At this stage, it is recommended to supplement the diet described above with garden waste, in particular fruit, vegetables and waste vegetables and many forages.

When the pig has reached 100 kg, it will have already developed the entire digestive system and bone tissues. In this phase, foods intended for fattening are administered. The feed to be used for the pig includes a mixture given by:

  • 74% of farm cereals
  • 17% commercial protein core
  • 9% bran

The recommended dose for each pig is 3 kg of mixture per day.
